Google Bard Gets a Makeover: Introducing 'Gemini' and a New App Release

According to a recent document shared by Android app developer Dylan Roussel on Twitter, Google is gearing up for significant changes to its official AI tool, Bard. Apart from technical updates, the app is undergoing a complete rebranding and will now be known as 'Gemini,' named after Google's original AI model.

The changelog document, dated February 3rd, 2024, reveals that Gemini will soon be accessible to iOS users within the Google app. The revamped app promises an improved user interface, featuring simplified navigation, reduced visual distractions, and an overall enhanced user experience. Google also plans to introduce a voice chat feature within the Gemini app.

In December 2023, Google had already hinted at an advanced paid tier for the Gemini app, highlighting the powerful Gemini Ultra. The document reaffirms this by mentioning the upcoming 'Ultra 1.0,' a paid version of Bard. Gemini is touted to excel in handling complex tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, creative collaboration, and more. Early access to Google's advanced AI features is recommended for users upgrading to the premium tier.

The document outlines Bard's integration with various Google features like maps, Gmail, YouTube, streamlining tasks for users. Moreover, user interaction is simplified, allowing chatting with the tool using images, audio, and text.

Regarding availability, the upgraded AI tool will initially launch in English for US users, with global availability in English, Korean, and Japanese languages. The anticipated changes suggest that Gemini is poised to offer an enriched AI experience with advanced capabilities and seamless integration into everyday tasks.
