A recent update released by Google, though unacknowledged, has been revealed by one of its carrier partners to address long-standing LTE calling and network data issues. This update, rolling out to select Verizon Pixel devices, aims to resolve problems that have been plaguing users since March.
Affected Devices and Update Details
Verizon has updated its support pages for the following devices:
- Pixel 7
- Pixel 7 Pro
- Pixel 7a
- Pixel 8
- Pixel 8 Pro
These devices have received the build AP1A.240405.002.B1, which, according to Verizon, "provides performance improvements for LTE calls/data and network issues." The update was listed as released on April 18, coinciding with its addition to Google's factory images page.
Availability and Installation
While the update seems to be rolling out gradually, you can check for it manually by going to:
Settings > System > System Update
Keep in mind that this update is currently limited to select Verizon Pixel devices, but it is likely to be available for other devices, such as AT&T Pixel devices, which have been waiting for an update for a month.
